Summer University 2016 [fr]

Organized by the Cultural Services of the Consulate General of France in Atlanta, in partnership with the Alliance Française of Atlanta, this course was designed for French teachers (K – 12 and university-level) in the Southeast to help diversify their educational support and engagement techniques in their French classes.

Summer university includes:
- 3 days of intensive, 6-hour training (18 hours total)
- A total immersion training, taught entirely in French
- A training covering both course support and techniques to encourage student engagement in French courses
- A dinner for all of the participants
- A French film

Summer University was started by Angela Silva, who has taught French as a foreign language since 1989, including 23 years at the Center for Culture and Cooperation – French Institute of Latin America, in Mexico. She has a degree in French education and diverse specializations in psychotherapy. She is an instructor in areas such as games and theatre in language classes, psychology, class discipline, teaching adolescents, group dynamics, and authorizing DELF-DALF examiners.

The costs of the training are covered by the Cultural Services of the Consulate. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, parking, and meals.

Registration closes on June 10, 2016, and space is limited to 30 participants.
