Training for teachers at University of Southern Mississippi, MS [fr]

A training on differentiated instruction for teachers of French as a Foreign Language will be offered on November 16.

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy are offering a training program on Differentiated Learning for faculty members who teach French courses at Elementary, Middle school, High school and College levels. This course will provide insight on how to teach classes for students of different levels in order to meet the needs of all learners. This training, led by Pierre-Yves Roux, is organized by CIEP (International Center for Educational Studies) and University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

JPEG CIEP has provided education and French language services to the world since 1945. CIEP’s activities revolve around education (general, higher, and professional-level instruction, recognition of qualifications) and languages (French language, evaluations and certifications in French, foreign languages and mobility). CIEP is well known in France and abroad for their expertise in training and evaluation in these two fields.

Throughout the training, participants will be given concrete examples of differentiation that will help their students to succeed. The training will look into the following questions:

  • why differentiation?
  • What can be differentiated and from what?
  • How to differentiate instruction?
  • How to manage a classroom?
  • What are the best conditions for a good differentiation?

This practical training is based on personal knowledge and experiences, and teachers are invited to actively contribute.
