Training for teachers at Samford University in Birmingham, AL [fr]

A training of French phonetics for teachers of French as a Foreign Language will be offered on May 26th.

The French Embassy’s Cultural Services are offering a training program for teachers of elementary, middle, high school, and university-level French to develop the tools needed to improve their students’ pronunciation of French. This training, led by Sophie de Abreu, is organized by CIEP (International Center for Educational Studies) and Samford University in Birmingham.

JPEG CIEP has provided education and French language services to the world since 1945. CIEP’s activities revolve around education (general, higher, and professional-level instruction, recognition of qualifications) and languages (French language, evaluations and certifications in French, foreign languages and mobility). CIEP is well known in France and abroad for their expertise in training and evaluation in these two fields.

Throughout the training, participants will be given examples of concrete phonetic learning activities that will help improve their students’ pronunciation. In the workshop, teachers will share their experiences teaching phonetics with their groups. This practical training is based on personal knowledge and experiences, and teachers are invited to actively contribute. As such, participants may bring a class manual if they have one. JPEG
