Outsourcing of the visa applications collection
In order to improve visa and appointment turnaround, the Embassy of France in the United States is contracting out the visa application collection to VFS Global.
The visa application transition from Consulates to VFS centers will happen progressively between April and July of 2018, with the opening of ten visa application collection centers:
Washington DC, April 18th
New Orleans LA and Houston TX, May 30th
Chicago IL, June 5th
Boston MA, June 6th
San Francisco CA, June 27th
Los Angeles CA, June 28th
Miami FL and Atlanta GA, July 19th
New York NY July 26th
Current visa application procedures remain unchanged until the opening date of each VFS center. Once VFS centers are open, visa applicants may submit their applications at the VFS center of their choosing.
Service fees apply: payable on line, at the time of the appointment booking.
A mobile visa application service may be offered in order to facilitate the process for students and others who do not live near an application center.
The Atlanta VFS center, located at Coastal States Building, 260 W Peachtree St NW floor 22 suite 2230, Atlanta GA 30303, will open July 19th 2018.
Visa applicants must make appointments in order to file their application at the Atlanta VFS center.
Appointments for the Atlanta VFS center will open April 4th 2018 on the France-Visas website (https://france-visas.gouv.fr/web/us/a-qui-sadresser).
Prior to the opening of the Atlanta VFS center, the Consulate General of France in Atlanta will publish an article on its website detailing the transition process and appointment making information.
