Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Franck Cannarozzo, Deputy Mayor of d’Aulnay-sous-bois, renewed a memorandum of understanding between Atlanta, Hubstart Paris, and the Grand Roissy area of greater Paris on September 20, 2016.
Representatives from Hubstart Paris Region Alliance, Aéroports de Paris, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the City of Atlanta, and the Consulate General of France were present for the signing. The cooperation agreement will continue efforts to promote economic development and the exchange of best practices between the global aviation hubs.
“The two airports and regions have done excellent work in leveraging common strengths for the economic development of both regions,” said Consul General Louis de Corail. “The State of Georgia is currently home to about 100 French affiliates, mostly based in Metro Atlanta, which account for some 15,000 jobs, and I look forward to seeing these numbers grow in the years to come.”
The first memorandum of understanding was established in 2011, following “France-Atlanta 2010” and a visit by the Atlanta Mayor to Paris for a conference about Greater Roissy. It also led to the annual Sustainable Airport Areas International Seminar, which has taken place in Paris CDG Airport Area, Shanghai-Pudong as well as three times in Atlanta.
