Atlanta’s European Consulates plant a tree on Earth Day [fr]

On April 22, 2021, the Vice Consul of France Nathalie Gonzalez joined representatives of the other European Consulates General in Atlanta to celebrate Earth Day with the Partners in Action for Healthy Living, Inc. (PAHL). This Metro-Atlanta based organization seeks to educate and empower communities through gardening and urban agriculture.

The event kicked off with a tour of the Belvedere Peace Community Garden in Decatur, Georgia, followed by a program of speakers including the Vice Consul of the Netherlands Koosje de Vries, PAHL’s Executive Director Vanessa Parker and the Dekalb County Commissioner for District 3 Larry Johnson. The speakers reflected on the importance of being global citizens and the value of solidiarity in addressing global challenges. Finally, an autumn-blooming witch hazel was planted in the garden.
